DFI Session 6

Class Sites 

Key notes taken away 

  • Class sites should be engaging and geared towards my intended learners
  • Content should be 3 clicks or less away

Class sites ideally should have evidence of the following - 

  • Visible Teaching and learning
  • Rewindable learning
  • Multimodal content
  • Multitext content ie a variety of texts supporting the 'main' text
  • Ubiquitous access to learning - could the child learn by self from eg the Starship Hospital?Connected (Blog links, school site)
  • Opportunities for learners to be creative
  • Are learners empowered (have agency) over data eg tracking sheets etc
  • Effective teaching practice eg NZC, learning progressions, NZQA etc

    I like the way you are straight to the point with the new learning you took away from todays session. For future posts, maybe something you can add to your blog post to make it quality is to embed something for example, an image of your class sit4e and then hyperlink it to your actual class sit4e, to showcase that changes you have implemented onto your site (from our discussion today). I enjoyed seeing you take pride on your site after giving me feedback on my class site.

    Thanks for sharing the key ideas that resonated with you. As Mary noted, it would be great to see you take the opportunity provided to make the connections to your own practice and to engage critically with the content that was shared throughout the day.
